Es war der 14. März 1983, als der Startschuss für etwas Großes fiel: Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, Richie Sambora, Alec John Such und Tico Torres gründeten eine der größten Hard-Rock-Bands des Jahrzehnts: Bon Jovi!
Ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum veröffentlichte die Gruppe im Januar 1984. Wenig später traten sie als Vorgruppe unter anderem für die Scorpions und Kiss auf - kein schlechter Anfang für eine junge Truppe. Hits wie "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer", "Bad Medicine", "I'll Be There For You" und und und machten Bon Jovi zu Ikonen.
