Die deutsche Hardrock-Band Scorpions, gegründet 1965 in Hannover als Nameless, veröffentlichte 1972 ihr erstes Album. Sie haben während ihrer Tourneen über 80 Länder besucht, schufen Welthits wie "Wind of Change" und gelten zu Recht als die erfolgreichste Hardrock-Band Deutschlands - seit 60 Jahren rocken die Scorpions und die treue Schar ihrer zahlreichen Fans die Musikwelt.
Charakteristisch für den Sound der Scorpions sind harte Gitarrenriffs von Rudolf Schenker im Zusammenspiel mit den melodiösen Soli von Matthias Jabs sowie die hohe metallische Stimme von Frontmann Klaus Meine. Häufig werden sie zu den Initiatoren der so genannten Powerballade gezählt.
